Key stakeholders across Uganda’s aviation sector gathered at the Uganda
Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) Head Office on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, for a
solemn thanksgiving service aimed at celebrating recent industry milestones and
committing the 2026/2027 Financial Year to God.
The religious service was led by the Most Rev. Archbishop (Ret.) Henry
Luke Orombi, serving alongside the Dean of All Saints' Cathedral, Kampala, the
Rev. Canon Dr. Rebecca Nyegenye. Together, they delivered messages of
reflection, ethical leadership, and gratitude for the continuous progress and
safety observed within the national airspace.
The high-profile event drew key leaders from both government and civic
organizations. Notable attendees included the UCAA Board Chairman, Hon. Justice
Steven B.K. Kavuma, DCJ (E), and the Mayor of Entebbe Municipality, Mr. Fabrice
Rulinda, alongside representatives from various airline operators, aviation
staff, and sectoral partners.
Speaking during the service, religious leaders highlighted the importance
of dedication, integrity, and faith as the aviation sector embarks on another
financial year aimed at operational excellence and infrastructure improvement.
The annual gathering reflects UCAA's tradition of recognizing key
achievements while fostering institutional unity among regulators, airport
operators, and local government leadership as they work together to enhance
Uganda’s civil aviation landscape.
