In a major
technological milestone for Africa's aviation sector, national flag carrier Uganda
Airlines has officially signed a new partnership deal with global travel
technology leader Amadeus. With this agreement, Uganda Airlines makes
history as the very first African carrier to deploy Amadeus SkyWORKS, a
cutting-edge flight schedule development and optimization platform.
Next-Generation Flight Scheduling
& Network Efficiency
The rollout
of Amadeus Skyworks equips Uganda Airlines with an integrated, high-performance
workbench designed to streamline and elevate schedule planning. Key
capabilities of the platform include:
- Real-Time
Feasibility Checking: Enables instant operational and logistical
validation before schedules are finalized.
- Advanced
Editing Capabilities: Allows network planners to seamlessly adjust
flights, routes, and timetables.
- Centralized
Distribution: Simplifies reporting and automates schedule distribution
across global systems.
- Multi-Scenario
Evaluation: Provides planners with comprehensive views to simulate and
compare different commercial scenarios.
"The
rollout of SkyWORKS provides Uganda Airlines teams with numerous schedule views
to evaluate different business scenarios and offers them a central repository
for all schedule-related information. The solution will be a transformative
addition to Uganda Airlines’ technology stack, accelerating its growth across
East Africa and further afield."

Deepening the Amadeus Tech Stack
Partnership
This
milestone builds upon an established digital relationship between Uganda
Airlines and Amadeus. The airline already utilizes Amadeus' core
ecosystem—including Altéa, revenue management systems, and loyalty
management programs—to power its daily commercial operations.
By adding
SkyWORKS to its digital stack, the airline gains unprecedented control,
flexibility, and operational precision over its expanding route network.
"Our
partnership with Uganda Airlines continues to evolve, reflecting a shared
commitment to innovation and operational excellence. Having collaborated on
Altéa, revenue, and loyalty management, we are deepening the relationship with
the implementation of Amadeus SkyWORKS to provide greater flexibility and
control in schedule management."

Mellak, Vice President Sales and Account Management (META), Amadeus
Powering Regional Expansion and Global
Ambitions
As Uganda
Airlines continues to scale its operations across East Africa, the African
continent, and international long-haul routes, implementing intelligent
scheduling infrastructure ensures the carrier can remain agile, cost-effective,
and competitive in a dynamic market.
