Over the past one and half month of Presidential campaigns, the political ratings of Parliament Speaker Anita Among have risen. Anita has been very active and powered Museveni’s campaigns with “vibe”.
She has made CEC on which she is the 2nd National Vice Chairperson to Museveni visible. As a new cadre in the NRM party having come from FDC, AAA struggles to blend with historical or originals who claim ownership of the party and some seek to act conservatively because they claim to know and own the NRM, she is fitting in well.
There a million questions about AAA’s wealth given her short time as Speaker of Parliament but with huge infrastructural projects. A modern hospital, radio station, stadium in Bukedea, schools, posh homes in Bukedea, Buyende and a palash home in Kampala. So where does AAA get all this money; quick answer, it’s ‘stolen’ money, amazing!
A former MP watching the Museveni rally in Bukedea wrote thus; “You may hate AAA but she has surely transformed her area. Imagine she has been a Speaker for only 3years, one will say that is stolen money after all. Yes, it might be stolen money but all the rest have also been accessing stolen money. The difference here is that she has put some of the stolen money to good use and tangible results are seen for the area I am sure that many here are giving to sulk”
Besides personal projects, AAA has pulled government projects to her areas. Before proceeding to the main rally in Bukedea (Wed, Nov 5,2025) the NRM Presidential candidate, Yoweri Museveni commissioned the Acomai Irrigation scheme in Bukedea and Bulambuli.
He also officiated at the ground breaking ceremony for Teso Animal Breeding and Demonstration Centre to support diary, beef, poultry, piggery and Fish farming in Bukedea and neighboring Districts.
What will Teso be like in 10years of AAA remains speaker?
These are physical and permanent projects that she can’t pocket or transfer even if she wanted long after her retirement. They are projects she will be proud of even as she settles in Teso as an elder of 70-80 years.
If AAA is a thief and stolen money is put to such good use, get us more thieves. Bring only 5 to Busoga to create wealth and jobs. Give AAA her flowers!!
