Uganda Airlines has become the first African carrier to deploy Amadeus SkyWORKS, following a new partnership with travel technology provider Amadeus.
The advanced flight schedule development solution is designed to enable airlines to make faster, more structured and accurate scheduling decisions. It provides Uganda Airlines with an integrated workbench featuring powerful editing capabilities, real-time feasibility checks, as well as tools for schedule reporting and distribution.
The solution is expected to enhance efficiency and provide greater flexibility in the airline’s schedule planning processes.
Shakila Rahim Lamar, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Uganda Airlines, said the rollout of Amadeus SkyWORKS will provide the airline’s teams with multiple schedule views, allowing them to evaluate different business scenarios and make informed planning decisions.
She added that the platform will also provide a central repository for schedule-related information, making it easier for teams to access and manage key data.
According to Lamar, the implementation of SkyWORKS will be a transformative addition to Uganda Airlines’ technology stack, supporting the airline’s continued growth across East Africa and beyond.
Commenting on the partnership, Yassine Mellak, Amadeus Vice President of Sales and Account Management for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey (META), said the company’s relationship with Uganda Airlines continues to evolve, reflecting a shared commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
Mellak noted that Amadeus and Uganda Airlines have previously collaborated on solutions including Altéa, revenue management and loyalty management. The deployment of SkyWORKS, he said, further deepens the partnership between the two organizations.
The new solution is expected to give Uganda Airlines greater flexibility and control over its flight schedule management, supported by an advanced technology platform designed to improve usability and streamline planning processes
